MICHELANGE QUAY

Michelange Quay is a Haitian American filmmaker, performance artist, educator and developer of the therapeutic language called Ancestral Hypnosis. 


His visionary feature film, Eat, For This Is My Body, was showcased and won prizes at Sundance, Toronto, New Director/New Films, Seattle, Rotterdam and the Grand Prize at  the Miami Film festival.

He is the developer of the hybrid musical genre electrovaudou - the meeting between Haitian ancestral rhythms and modern electronica.  


His contemporary art practices focuses the poetic space where performance in cinema and hypnosis meet, both for actors and the audience - film viewing as hypnotic ritual.  His current ongoing film project is indeed called THE BLACK BOX.

He has been trained in both Ericksonian indirect hypnosis and direct hypnosis at the NLP Center of New York, and the Jacquin Hypnosis Academy UK, in London.


Having studied anthropology at the University of Miami, Florida, and engaged in life long research in West African and Afro Caribbean spiritual systems, he actively cultivates this root source connection for modern healing work, modern creative work, for individuals or groups, face to face in Paris and online.

He calls this therapeutic discipline ANCESTRAL HYPNOSIS.
